When guests filed into the Grand Palais for the most recent runway show,
they were greeted by the sight of a giant monument to the Chanel jacket, apparently cast in concrete.
The message? The immutability of the brand!
Perhaps not a bad statement, when the search for rock-solid future investments is,
to put it mildly, playing on people's minds.
In Karl Lagerfeld's hands, the Chanel couture jacket is an infinitely malleable treasure,
always current yet timelessly valuable.
This new collection reiterated that magical strength to the max, with lyrical plays on the little tweed classic.
It was cut in neat shapes in almost every variation!
Also there was an homage to Coco herself and her IDEAL Dress.

The back provides the closure of a zipper covered with Black Silk Self-Covered Bridal Buttons
The same fabric as the torso completes the hipline and is married to the Silk Chiffon Skirt
The skirt drapes asymmetrically and is longer in the back than in the front
The skirting is made with two layers of the silk chiffon for modesty and texture
The dress is a slim fitting strapless sheath that is made to be figure flattering
It is tagged a Size 36 or a US Size 4-6

We photographed it with a double faced Khaki Silk Satin Huge Shawl - 95" x 27".
The coloration is subtle and unexpected and it can be wrapped and tied in a multitude of ways.
This was used as an accessory for a Neiman Marcus fashion show - labels have been removed.
It looks like Oscar de la Renta to me - because of the dimensions alone.
It has a couple of little pulls which are insignificant and invisible unless you examine closely.
You will do worse, the first time you wear it.
