of Gimmo Etro since he began his design empire in 1968.
He began as a manufacturer of fabrications for the clothing industry.
Textile production included precious fabrics made with noble and natural fibres,
such as cashmere, silk, linen and cotton embellished with original designs and innovative colorations.
The motif characterizing the first collection was PAISLEY,
which has become not only the production masterpiece,
but also Etro's hallmark.
The collection expanded to introduce men's and womens accessories.
The creative designs explored unusual figurative and chromatic interpretations,
and always reveal extraordinary craftsmanship.
Somewhere in the processing of material for her collections,
Veronica Etro always manages to excavate a timely East-West connection
that reflects the culturally eclectic heritage of her family company.
Veronica Etro picked up on some of the trends of the season,
but managed to weave in a sense of her family's heritage in print and exotic fabric.
From there, found ways to work in the house paisleys on silk, satin, chiffons, and voiles,
which she used on everything from pajamas to jumpsuits to long, multitiered halterneck dresses, to classic shirt dresses.
Her soft palette provided a baseline to tie it all together.
What really will sell is far more likely to be the romantic, early-seventies-influenced printed gypsy blouses,
multitier halternecks, and chic short & long dresses,
Items in which to breeze around on a warm day. All in paisley, of course

Body of the Dress is a Soft Mocha with a rich paisley at the shoulders, arms and top of the bodice
The paisley returns from below the waistline to the hemline
There is a delicate ribbon striping which edges the cuffs, the front plaquette of buttons
and the hemline
It is a delicate floral of apricot and lime on ecru
This striping repeats horizontally across the bodice and at angles on the sleeves
The self-covered buttons are made from this same floral pattern
Only the top button is the mocha silk
